They claimed it was for safety. Make the cage pretty. Pamper the masses. Chip away at their rights bit by bit. Slow at first, then wham hit hard.
The circular lights, an innovative 21st-century solution to lamp posts. The solar power source to save the planet. A time to rejoice. Cameras added to monitor the streets, pinging to GPS and facial recognition. To stop the unlawful. Privacy became non-existent. Any voice of resistance, arrested, disposed of. Opposition cheered, until they became the next target.
The government grew in supremacy. A rebellion waited around the corner. Perhaps what the influential wanted all along. Money in war.
Dear Tanille,
This seems all too possible. Well told and eerie.
Shalom,
Rochelle

It’s why I won’t even consider Alexis or any other knock offs. Of course I have computers and cell phones, so it might be too late for me. 😉

We both saw surveillance in the pretty street lights. And we took it in different directions. That’s the beauty of a prompt

I saw aliens first but as I wrote the brain shifted. Who knows what the governments might be hiding in every day things? Hopefully nothing but don’t count on it.
Great prompt 😀

Just this morning I read a newspaper article in which I was advised to warn visitors that I have an Alexis in my house. I do sometimes feel she’s peering over my shoulder!
Here’s my story!.

Knowing my luck if I had an Alexis she’d go all crazy bitch on me. Siri is bad enough, doing things I didn’t ask…

Mr Froggy has returned, he showed up fashionably late 😀.

I loved your twist, when the stakes were upped from surveillance to war.

Sometimes one has to question what surveillance is really about, governments have a history of covering true motives.

Well told, well put together, and worrying as it is true. Which the war in Syria illustrates.

As some are saying globalism has created a clown world. Media has a lot to answer for, rather creative with facts…

This is all reality I think… and the terror is around the corner.

I actually have hope, but I can see this sort of thing happening if people don’t stop being complacent.

The love/hate is understandable. Went to a dark place this week 😀. On the bright side it doesn’t have to be the future.

The world of politics is marred by corruption and deceptive interviews. Now, as elections approach, they hang waiting in the air. So many halos lost in the process. Waiting now for new owners. (If they exist.)

How far into the future? It’s started in China (facial recognition / police state).

A good story with warning included Tannille. I’ve heard creepy stories about Alexis and her like. My son won’t even subscribe to Facebook or Twitter. He’s a worrier but may be right. Well done. 🙂 — Suzanne

I must admit I stay away from those things. Could be a bit of paranoia on my part. I mean what are the odds, the majority use these things.
