Life. Sometimes we go around in circles. Never sure who to give way to. Some come for the ride with us, others trapped to move along in their own loop. Dizzy, the exit confusing, wait for another to lead the way out. One foul move could turn fatal. Fate is fickle.
People are idiots; local, foreign, male, female – it’s irrelevant. Trust no driver; in front, behind or to the side. Watch the blindspot for a nasty surprise. Know the rules and merge.
A road leading to a destination is better than one that goes nowhere. Floor it, but keep your foot ready to break and for Pete’s sake, don’t be a Sunday driver…
A harsh view of other people, yet whenever I’m driving, I feel the exact same! And don’t get me started on those Sunday drivers! 🙂

I don’t even drive lol. But yeah there are lot of idiots on the road. Ah the Sunday driver they are universal 😀.
Thanks I!

It’s always good to be reminded that the drivers in the other cars probably think I’m an idiot too

Judging by the increased road rage on our roads I’d say so!

Dear Tanille,
As George Harrison sang, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.” 😉 I agree about those Sunday driver. According to my husband I am one. But then, according to him, no one else knows how to drive. Don’t get me started on that one. Good one.
Shalom,
Rochelle

Sounds like driving with you two would be quite the story!

Yeah the muse went a bit funny. I did consider not posting, but hey where would the fun be in that? 😀

Have to chuckle at that one. I have to confess that I’ve slowed down over the years and would probably now be labeled as a “Sunday Driver” most of the time. Life is short… slow down a little and enjoy it.

I’m all for people going the speed limits on major roads, slow down around residential roads. Some drive so fast!

A fascinating ‘stream-of-consciousness in a motor-car’ story. You evoke the occasional sense of information overload that one can feel after driving too long without a break.
Interestingly, your story also made me think of the current UK general election campaign, with its backdrop of Brexit. Confusing, full of half-truths and lacking any clear sense of direction…(actually, when I say half-truths I think I’m being much too kind to our politicians)

Now there is an metaphor. Politics in the West are crazy, spotlight is on England.

Assume everyone else on the road is a blithering idiot and drive accordingly, but don’t take that attitude into relationships!

Goodness that would be terrible! The thought cringe worthy.

Do you suppose that someone has done a You Tube video on how to use a roundabout?
Actually, when we visited England in July, it seemed to me that most people handled them with ease. Once in a while we’d hear a screech of brakes and angry honking, but not often. Lots of traffic goes through those things!

We have a lot of them in Australia, always assume that some idiot forgets / doesn’t know to give way to their right. It can be breathtaking lol.
Everything is on YouTube. 😀

Roundabouts have started making their appearance here in Quebec and it is a resounding – we hate them!
Meanwhile, I enjoyed this story in three parts.

In Australia we’ve had them for as long as I can remember. Most hate then because you can’t trust everyone to follow the rules, it’s like playing Russian Roulette with a bullet.

You know, that is the biggest stress… If you’ve had them for so long, you should be used to them!

This sounded a lot like someone I know … In roundabout, on and off exits from highways, and generally in merging into traffic … and possibly of the road as well … 😉 Great analogy, that!

I think most of us know a person like this lol. I left out road rage, that would have been fun.

Yes circles can be confusing. One often misses the exit. May be using a GPS would be of help. Nice take on the prompt.

I really liked this. Coming from a left hand drive country, I would be extremely dangerous at this circle.

Round shouts are a hold your breath and go. Can’t trust everyone knowing the rules. I see them broken often and been in near misses. The slow the flow of traffic. But they’re meant to.
Thanks V!

Great tale loaded with advice. the key to any good life is to decide where you are going and know your destination. I concur.

if you think you’re lost and not knowing where you’re going can be liberating, too. it can lead to a new found perspective. it’s ok as long you keep your wits about you. 🙂
