PHOTO PROMPT © Rochelle Wisoff-Fields for Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers. Other stories featuring the prompt can be found here.
Note: I had to read other stories to realise the box in the image is actually a fridge. HA HA!
MUSE: You’re overthinking it.
TANNILLE: I know, it’s been a crap afternoon. The creative spark dead.
MUSE: Dealing with f-wits will do that.
TANNILLE: F-wits? Since when do you censor?
MUSE: You want the world to know of your fondness for four-letter words?
TANNILLE: I think they know already.
MUSE: Focus… The prompt.
TANNILLE: Barbie’s camper van?
MUSE: Not pink.
TANNILLE: Ken’s camper van? I think I see a toilet in the window.
MUSE: Still, too masculine… Alien technology?
TANNILLE: … Huh?
MUSE: Ghosts in a box?
TANNILLE: Who are you going to call?
MUSE: Ghostbusters!
A box that can confine ghosts? Wonderful!

Not like it’s been done before 😀.

Dear Tanille,
A typical conversation between author and muse. Clever.

Rochelle

Must admit a stared at the screen blank for a while. When stuck on these prompts I just type and that’s only when the muse character comes out. Yay, something.
Thanks R!

I couldn’t work the damn thing out. Thought it was a lot smaller than a fridge. Haha.

I read a post yesterday where the woman said she saw a “cat” out her window and it was really a plastic bag. Sometimes, depending on where your mind it, things just look different.

Funny brain connection. I think with photographs it doesn’t help that we see it from only one angle.
Thanks SW!

I love when you are “stuck” – if it consoles you any, I didn’t look at the top of the “box” and thought it was a CPU lying down…never saw the fridge either.

Likewise.
I thought it was some electronic gizmo, hence my story

Same here. It was only when I downloaded the image, the name showed as ‘fridge in the woods.’

I thought it was some weird bush object I’d never seen before or a weird tackle box lol. Then my mind got “creative”. 😀

Your muse is certainly more communicative than mine is.

My fall back when no story comes to mind.

How does it feel, Tannille, to know that everyone (except me) likes your muse more that they like you?

more THAN!

Never thought of it like that. Think I have a new story, Tannille puts muse in box. Haha. 😀

Stuck for ideas? have a chat with the muse! Love it.

I am grateful she comes like this when I am stuck or I might not have a weekly flash story. 😀
Thanks Shrawley

Like an inner voice? Do you really argue?
LikeLiked by 2 people
Sort of. I’ve kind of created an inner character from my inner voice, instead of one inner voice I split it in two for these stories. It’s also, a bit like writing dialogue and free flowing writing. Not sure my madness makes any sense haha.

Haha! This was fantastic. Loved it, Tannille.

Pandora’s Box
I found it in the corner of the paddock. It wasn’t there last week. At first I was curious but something about that box stayed my hand. No sound came from it and the only indication of its origin was what looked like GOV stenciledon its side. When I looked closer, the “G” might have been a “C”. COV-what I pondered. That box will stay there, unopened. After all COVID whatever had to come from somewhere, didn’t it?

I thought I was a bit of a moron for not seeing it, but many of us saw anything but a fridge 😀.

I’m with you on this one. It took me 8 hours to come up with 100 words. My muse was like, ”
!”
I did see the fridge, though. I just so happens to look exactly like mine, except for the lying on the side of the road part.

I have a rule: don’t spend too long on flash, just write. The muse character was born from this, steps in when I am stuck (lucky).
If I’d seen a fridge I predict I would have taken the story to a dark place and “I’m trying” to be light hearted these days.
Glad your muse came to the party, even if it 8 hours late!
Thanks N

Good rule. I have rules like that. Unfortunately, my number one rule is never follow rules.

I use to be like that when I was young. 😀

You can’t be having your muse censor itself 🙂

At least your muse discusses it with you – mine’s a bossy-boots and tells me what to do!
Here’s mine!

Nah mine’s too lazy lol. But hey these little flash fictions are amusing, better than drawing a blank.

I like the box containing ghosts’ idea. Amusing dialogue between you and your muse as always! =)

Me too. The box reminded me of that machine they use capture ghost from the Ghostbuster’s franchise. Unfortunately I couldn’t come up a story (beginning, middle & end), so the muse stepped up. 😀
