The new phenomenon so pretty floating, lighting up the waterway. Some claimed the glowing orbs were a gift from the gods. Others believed they were a sign from the one and only God. Atheist clung to science, searching for answers. And potheads swore they were here all along. 

For a brief time in human history the bickering stopped, captivated by the illumination. Morale climbed the rainbow night sky. The round disks offered escapism, a free mind caught within its spinning web. The balls grew in numbers, more to travel around the globe. 

Life grand and peaceful… until they hatched.
