Tannille stares at the writing prompt picture, begging The Muse to formulate a story — an itty-bitty story to share with the world.
The Muse jumps onto the Harry Potter double-decker bus.
“No, you can’t use copyright material, we’re not lost wizards.”
The Muse responds with a raspberry and sings out the window.
“Colours of the world, spice up your life?”
“How very 90s of you. No Spice Girls.”
“Bomb on the bus?”
“Speed! Feeling nostalgic today?”
“Do you want the red pill or the blue pill?”
Tannille chooses the blue pill to end this ridiculous conversation with The Muse.

Story Notes
This conversation with The Muse draws on 90s pop culture. Harry Potter and The Spice Girls need no introduction, and double-decker buses… is there anything more British? Speed and The Matrix starred Keanu Reeves, a 90s poster boy. The pills refer to a quote from The Matrix.
“You take the blue pill… the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill… you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”
The Matrix

Sounds like the argument I had with the Muse today, only I decided to go all Harry Potter on it anyway.. Yes, I drew a total blank and just started writing to see what the Muse would throw on the page.

Like I commented on yours, I wonder if our muses waved at each other? Both started at the same place and ended up at different places.
Thanks, T.

Sent me back to the 90s – I almost went with bomb on the bus as well, but veered away from it!

Times have changed. Bomb on the bus is too loaded these days. 80s and 90s had some pretty far our movies.
Thanks, I.

Your muse seems to be in fan fiction mode today. Nice mash-up of 90s pop culture. Keanu Reeves and Harry Potter transcended the 90s to become cultural icons.

That’s true. Although, I think dear old Harry has dated. Maybe the new series they threaten us with will be a smash… more than likely it’ll be a cock-up.
Thanks, N.

When traveling on a bus I feel anxious about the driver; I wonder what pills does he/she take. It was the wrong turning last week that set me on edge and driving through the red lights. I saw one driver eating M&Ms, I think they were M&Ms.
Great references, although I did avoid the Spice Girls in the nineties ;I was on another planet.

Buses… and tucks on the road is scary. We had a bad crash in Oz a month ago after a wedding. The driver was speeding and showing off on a roundabout and tipped the bus. Many died.
Must have been a good planet. 😀
Thanks, J.
