The island became plagued with the flu. Jude, being the local doctor, heard all the moans and groans. None worse than her husband. She whipped out her blade, and chopping away, made a batch of medicine with blender magic.
“Just kill me…”
Such a baby.
Coen took the liquid drug from her hand and threw it down his throat. He screwed up his nose.
“Damn.”
In hours he felt better, bouncing off the walls. Jude felt like crap.
“Let me get you some medicine.”
Her mouth twitched, and she shook her head.
“I just need to rest.”
Her concoction of oranges, onions, and cabbage was 100% placebo.

Placebos often work well. It’s all in what you believe, I guess 🙂

Unfortunate for her. A new placebo is needed.

I always say that a physician’s job is to entertain you until you get better on your own and I’m not opposed to a good dose of placebo. Soup, in fact, will cure almost anything that ails you.

Men! They always think they’re about to die, whether they have a splinter or the flu. Great idea about the placebo.

Belief is a powerful thing. I’m a big baby when I’m sick, too. Rest is usually the best medicine if the placebo effect fails.

I think most of us are big babies when sick.
