The Fairy Godmother wandered into the fabric store. The Hollywood gala was an hour away. For slippers’ sake, why do the starlets wait so long to wish upon a star and beg for help? Every. Single. Event.
At least after they slept with the producers, she made a killing.
The Fairy Godmother poked her wand at the sheer fabric hanging. Perfect!
“We don’t have any more of that fabric,” said the shop assistant.
“That’s ok, love, I only need a little. Just enough to cover nips and cracks.”
“I’ll add it to your account.”
Outside, her signature pumpkin Mustang roared with her driver, Mickey, ready to go.

Note:
“The Fairy Godmother in Hollywood” is a modern spoof inspired by the fairy tale classic, Pretty Woman“Cinderella”.
I wish FGM would do something about Mickey’s wardrobe!

You want Mickey in a skimpy? 🤣

He’s been wearing that same outfit for almost 100 years! I hope he at least washes it.

This had me smiling all the way through, except for the part where the aspiring starlets slept with the producers. A sad truth.

It’s very sad. The seedy truth. The transaction for fame.

Originally it was “for pumpkin carriage sake”. I prefer “slippers’ sake”. Sharper.

I like the title “Fudged Up Fairy Tales.” Oh I would love to have one of those wands.

Me too. Any magic wands. Or a magic credit card that pays itself.

“Cover nips and cracks.” 🤣 That is not far from the starlet dress code these days. I never imagined the Fairy Godmother at a fabric store. Don’t the mice and birds make the clothes? Or is that after she buys the fabric? Funny one, T.

Took me a while to come up with that line. I knew what I wanted to convey. Exactly, the dress code is getting skimpier and skimpier. TFG likes to cut corners when she can. I think in the Disney version the birds make the dress and the mice are turned into horses?
Thanks, N.

Lines like that either spring up as an epiphany or need careful crafting. The muse works in mysterious ways.
One can cut a lot of corners just covering nips and cracks.
I think you’re right. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it.

Exactly. And those lines usually reveal themselves last or after the story has been published.
Sounds like you know from experience 😀.

I knew it! Even a Fairy Godmother can’t make a ballgown out of thin air with a wave of her wand. She has an account in the Fabric shop. Just don’t tell the kids.

Exactly. And Santa doesn’t make toys!

Dear Tanille,
Not much fabric is required for a starlet’s ball gown these days. 😉 Unique and fun take on the prompt.

I’m shocked how nude like the outfits are. I miss the beautiful gowns.

I loved “for slippers’ sake” and the pumpkin Mustang. I can feel her frustrations at the last minute calls. Not thrilled with the sex-for-fame thing though. I fear many of those starlets are less than equal partners in that sort of deal.

I’d love a pumpkin Mustang!
The power dynamic is alarming. It’s sad. They sell glamour to lure wannabe starlets in, but don’t advertise the price.
Thanks, J.

For slipper’s sake is a new classic. I’m afraid the FGM lost her charm for me with Shrek 2.😂

Such an awesome film! I prefered 2 over the first.
