“The rust bucket has to go. It’s unsightly. The talk of the town.”
“But it’s got history.”
“Don’t care. It makes the yard look like a dump. It’s nothing more than scrap metal.”
“But the kids were conceived —”
“Ew, Dad. Stop. We’re eating.”

Ben dodged his wife’s potted flowers and circled around his first love. Rachel was right, she was beyond repair. Dreams of doing her up for the twins dashed. How could he part with the Shaggin’ Waggon? If only he could give her a new life…

Lost in thought, Ben tripped over a pot. His muse bloomed with a solution.

Rachel’s blossoms found a new home in the car’s engine. The interior was restored for quickies once more.

The old bomb continued to make tongues wag.

  1. That’s why you clean every used or rental car ASAP. Fun one, T.

    I didn’t know that song was by Billy Ocean or that it was about picking up prostitutes. I confuse it with another song where Chris gets pulled into the frozen food refrigerator in the Family Guy parody.

      1. I don’t know if there is a parody, but in the video, he pulled up to a corner, pointed at a woman, and directed her to get into his car. She didn’t look like she expected him or even knew him. In the States, that’s called prostitution.

    1. Sorry for my month late reply Fleur. I pulled a shoulder muscle and was advised to rest my limb. I could do pretty much everything except typing. All good now.

      And yes, I love the old 80s sing-along songs!

      Thanks, F;

      1. Hi, happy new year, Tanille!
        Replying a month late is one of my tricks!

        Owch that sounds painful! I’m glad you’re on the mend now though. How mean of them to say no writing! I’d go a bit nuts if it were me. 80s music is thr best 🙂
