Ice cream… What can I write about ice cream? Hmm nothing, here we go again… sigh… Muse?
MUSE: Hospital stay?
TANNILLE: I rather not, you know I have issues with hospitals. Let’s keep the shadows out of this.
MUSE: What about skin irritation?
TANNILLE: No, that reminds me of bowel irritation.
MUSE: Wow and you think I’m weird. But you have an idea, my job here is done.
TANNILLE: Wait! Not so fast. I am not writing a story about shit.
MUSE: It wouldn’t be the first time.
TANNILLE: Ha ha.
MUSE: Keep talking to me and you’ll end up in Graylands with ice cream – Now that would be a story!
NOTE: Graylands is an inpatient mental health facility located in Perth, Australia. I struggled again this week for a story. Can you tell? 😀
You managed the struggle with dignity, humour, and aplomb

These “muse” conversations seem to be what I fall back when I scratch my head.

Dear Tanille,
I’d say your muse served up a scoop of humor in spite of writers block. Sweet.

Yes! I was most grateful. One of those days, dull headache, tired and I questioned if I could write when I really didn’t feel it. Sometimes giving it a go works.
Thanks Rochelle!

Sometimes I really think the Muse has a good giggle at everyone’s expense. You turned it into a belly laugh, though, so all is well 🙂

The muse is becoming quite the character.

Muses can be so bossy. Not worth arguing with them though!

Oh but is can be as fun as it is frustrating… tricked her into giving me a story. Better than a blank screen anyway.

I must agree… Your muse brought out your sense of humour in a most delightful (and thankfully not shitty) way!

Haha “shitty way”
Must admit when the muse pops ups it seems to be when I don’t get that spark from an imagine. In the end it’s a load of fun just to run with it (not in a shitty way). 😀

Muses are often fickle and taunting. Love your thought processes!!

I think I can say with some certainty that there won’t be another contribution like this on the Friday Fictioneers squares today. 🙂

Oh that pesky muse. Hopefully she’ll be back on her game soon!
In the meantime though, your conversations with her are pretty darn entertaining!

Yeah she doesn’t like when life gets a bit stressful. Hopefully with appointments and things out of the way I might be more inspired.

Made me think – Just let the mind and pen wander and the words will appear, no matter how jumbled.

I’m a sucker for meta, shit jokes, and attempting to talk one’s muse into action. I enjoyed your story.
