The children skipped along the old street stained with graffiti. They mulled around an authentic decades-old bench table and parked their butts on stools while they waited for the rest of the class to catch up. The educational excursion sure beat sitting in a classroom. History a yawn. Chitchat filled the air.
“My grandparents drove a car like that.”
“So primitive.”
“Can you believe people lived like this?”
The street with the 21st-century artwork flicked in and out. The hologram short-circuited. A glitch in the system. Disney still faced quality control issues despite technological advances.
But the old fashioned, sprayed on, graffiti survived. Lovely

Fantastic. Will the future depend on Virtual Reality goggles. How do you switch off any outside influence.

It’ll be an entirely different world. Will people know the difference between fantasy and reality?

Dear Tanille,
I’m sure Disney will get those bugs worked out. 😉 Entertaining piece.

With a name like mine, leaving out an “n” isn’t the worse offence. All good! 🤣

It’s not hars to imagine Disney running the whole world, even our memories and museums.

They already do. A handful of corporations run the world. Disney is one of them.

A lovely futuristic story. Sometimes I wonder what future generations will think of us. And yes, Disney’s always going to be around!

I think the future generations will be looking at this time period scratching their heads… a cross road period. No doubt Disney will still be around. 😀
Thanks N!

It’s the first step into the Matrix, I’m telling you! Great story Tannille and a very realistic glmpse into the future. Mind you, I would have liked history lessons like this. Maybe I’d have learned something.

Since covid, classrooms are on the way out, so we are already halfway there. Fun sci-fi story.

I might have liked school better if it were a virtual reality. But, I do worry people aren’t being socialised right. That’s another story.

Wouldn’t that make history way more interesting? A hologram of a place so you can really see and feel the place… Hope the glitches get fixed 😉

I’ve heard the 21st century was a primitive, savage time. I wouldn’t want to live there. I think you just made the Mouse’s hit list.
