PHOTO PROMPT © J Hardy Carroll Rochelle’s Friday Fictioneers. Other stories featuring the prompt can be found here.

Little fire dancers, flicker in the flame, waiting to be noticed. Their bodies hypnotic as they move to silent music. The mesmerised audience are enticed and explore inner realms. Answers to life’s questions, big and small, revealed. Guidance and inspiration await to be tapped into, a weapon against the shadows.

Little fire dancers hear prayers and relay to the cosmos. Make a birthday wish, the tiny angels carry wishes with candle embers.

All blazes are snuffed eventually, starved for oxygen – a curse and a blessing. Be at ease, little fire dancers are one match strike away from ignition.

Word of caution: respect the flame dwellers, they can be volatile and spiteful. Conjure with risk.
