This picture represents me right now. It’s been freaking cold and today was the first day in months we’ve had direct sun. Yay.
The Muse feels iced. Wednesdays and Fridays have become physiotherapy days. Energy depleted. As they say “no pain, no gain”. My physiotherapist cringes every time I quote the saying. No, it doesn’t hurt. Although I’ve been on a Saw binge and she strapped to a device today. I couldn’t help but imagine round blades extending from the roof — thanks Muse, wrong place, wrong time!
Next Wednesday, I’m booked in for the second Pfizer shot. If physio doesn’t take me out, that might. Ha. This is my melodramatic way of saying, I am alive, all is dandy, but blogging is a bit hit and miss. Priorities… I’m playing a game with my writing buddy and he’ll turn a bit Jigsaw on my butt if I don’t make the novel my number one priority — game over.
*~*
Note:
Saw is a gruesome horror franchise. Jigsaw, a serial killer, plays life and death games with his victims to teach them the meaning of life via the use of creative torture traps. And I thought my muse was sick! Oh, wait…
Best of luck with the novel, Tannille. Sometimes trying something out in flash can help you solve a writing problem in a longer piece

You are right. Flash is a great place to find new ideas and to expand on the old.

Urgh, I could never watch disgusting stuff like that. I believe such films are even legal.

Says the man who has written stories about murders. 😀
I can only watch ‘make believe’ horror.
Noted: Only watch G-rated flicks with Mason 😀

I don’t saw limbs off or write anything explicitly gory. My murders are very PG in comparison to Saw. Thats just too much for me.

Yet you know the big scene from the first film…
Fair enough. The franchise is cringeworthy. Not my usual viewing.

I never watched it, I gathered the context from the ads.

I’ll get there. Little progress everyday. 😀

Flash fiction can help. Sometimes I feel like it stretches the creative well and the novel should come first.

No pain no gain, is not something I agree with. As I believe that Pain often denys gains.

For the most part I believe that is the rule. Every rule has exceptions.

I feel your pain with the physio – mine’s supposed to be helping my chronic pain but I’m worse since I started going. Does that mean it’s working? I’m not sure.

I asked my physio about pain and she said the rules are different if physio is implemented to help with existing pain. In my case I’m building muscle, so muscle fatigue it is for me. I hope your chronic pain gets better. Pain is hell.

I feel your pain. It’s been mine for a fortnight but after two physio sessions I think I may be seeing an improvement.

Improvement makes it worth while. Not a fun activity, focus on the results.

At least the muse is still around even if she seems to have an evil sense of humour. I don’t (want to) know Saw, but the image reminded me of Poe’s Pit and Pendulum.

Evil sense of humour— that’s me. A little warped. Have to smile at the dark, have fun when life is unpleasant. 😀

Horror films aren’t for me – I’m a real wimp when it comes to watching stuff.

I must admit, horror isn’t a genre I usually visit. Saw is really more of a gory thriller.

Dear Tanille,
Oy on the physio. Hope it’s helping. My second Pfizer shot had no ill effects for me. Hope it’s the same for you. Best of luck with the novel.

Thanks R. The physio is going really well. It makes me tired though. Fingers crossed with the Pfizer. The alternative would be worse.

Saw? That sounds awful. I only watch movies with Disney Princesses in them. I like to imagine them being brutally tortured and dismembered by their anthropomorphic animal friends. You know, good, old-fashioned, family-friendly entertainment.
Your writing buddy sounds nice.

Well I see some seriously missed up flash fiction coming up. Do you want help? 😀
Nice? Nah, he’s a bit beyond G-rated… The muse needs an equal to play with.

As Richard Pryor said in the film “Moving” – “No pain… sounds good to me!” That’s also my motto.

I’ve been working on different novels for years. Competing is an issue. I get lost in series. Also, I have a habit of letting other things take up novel work time. Priorities.
Thanks P!

I need to focus. I have several drafts of novels done but because they are in a series the story never feels complete.
