Writer’s UpDate…
Fudge-cakes where does the time go? Can’t believe I haven’t posted for two months! Doesn’t feel that long. October, the bedrooms were refloored. Decades of crap, pulled out of the rooms, sorted, and put back. One of the rooms was my converted study, “The Cave’. Need I say more? Every nook and cranny… I have yet to go through old university files and school books… Does paper breed? I swear on a star it must…
November, I focused on Nanowrimo and juggled appointments. There’s always a never-ending list of shiz to do. Hopefully, 2022 will be less taxing and the muse can focus.

This story is dedicated to Nobbinmaug because without making a pact to participate in Friday Fictioneers this week, I would have used the “I’m hosting a Christmas party on Friday” excuse and extended my hiatus until next week.

The brewery was the oldest building in town. Her stone walls timeless, and the produce a well-kept secret in the local region. The storefront served the general public, but the good stuff the owner kept hidden in the cellar outback and only sold to the chosen in the know, just ask for Sweet Molly. The substance potent, dangerous, and illegal. One could lose their head… in more ways than one. Want hairs on your chest? Bottoms up. Want an out-of-body experience? Scoll. Rose-coloured glasses? Sip. Euphoria? Keep drinking? To see the dead? Careful what you drink.

Sweet Molly, bottling potions since 1586.

  1. Interesting potions. Creative story.
Try at own risk! 🙂 I am happy with the surprises & shocks life gives, and won’t try “Sweet Molly” 🙂

Keep writing. Yes, 2 months is a long gap. Take care.

  2. “Does paper breed?” 🤣 I wish words bred. I know dogs breed and a certain breed of dog.

My favorite part was the dedication. Nobbinmaug, forcing Tannille to write since 2020. Tannille, returning the favor.

Molly doesn’t seem so sweet when you put it that way. Good one, T. You shook the rust right off. I’m still creaking.

    1. New pact — 2022 Nobbinmaug and Tannille breed… words…

Figured you would like the dedication… I need to create a label and stick that quote on my laptop. 🤣

I don’t know, Sweet Molly might be useful. Helps ugly people breed. Cures depression, hair loss, bad breath . Hell maybe SM can cure cancer by killing blood cells or unwanted siblings.

    1. I wasn’t too sure how I was going to execute this story — 100 words is challenging. Originally, Sweet Molly was going to be accidentally sold to the public. That would have been interesting. Anyway, I am glad the story worked in terms of execution.

      Thanks P!

    1. The clutter is still around, never ending. But, the room are much better and all my craft/art stuff is in one room now, rather than everywhere. Good to be back!

I think Sweet Molly has stories to tell.

      Thanks R!

    1. “Fudge-cakes” = more polite for civil company than the word I normal use. 😀

I find there are so many things to be done even during COVID lockdowns. Some months are busier than others.

      Thanks B!

  3. Definitely beware the Sweet Molly… especially the kind that comes out of the mountains. It’s got a punch that will invite you to death just to escape. Great story, and hey, it’s good to see you back. Your input was missed.

    1. I’ll put an order in for you. Rose-coloured glasses are a nice choice. 😀

I had a great Christmas party. My writers’ group had an influx of new members this year and they are a lively bunch.

      Thanks B!

The Muse likes her ego stroked, leave a comment and she'll do the same... unless there is a glitch... or human error...
